Oregon baseball is at a crossroads
Oregon Baseball has achieved unprecedented success in recent years - including four straight NCAA Tournament appearances and being mere outs away from the College World Series twice. It is clear that our program is on the cusp of something truly special. However, behind the scenes the financial landscape of college baseball is rapidly and dramatically changing, which will likely create a significant competitive imbalance in the sport.
New NCAA rules allow teams to offer scholarships to all 34 players - up from the previous limit of 11.7. This means Division I teams around the country are likely to have a wide range in the number of scholarships they will offer. It is easy to understand what will happen if one team has 30 scholarships and the opponent has 10. With Name, Image and Likeness opportunities moving into college baseball, the major disruption is even greater. Currently, the funds don’t exist to provide more than the current level of 11.7 scholarships for the Oregon Baseball program.
That’s where we come in! Now is the time to act. Diamond Ducks was formed to meet this challenge head on and is determined to keep our program among the national elite - and we need your help. We’ve created a wide range of ways for you to be involved that come with some exciting benefits. Together, we can ensure a sustainable championship future for Oregon Baseball.
